The people of Community Christian Fellowship (CCF) want to make
a difference in the world. We think the best way to do that is by
following the model of the life of Jesus. “Being like Jesus”
is the goal behind everything we do as a community.
To arrive at that goal, we do three things when we get together
on Sunday nights. First, we sing songs that focus our attention
on who Jesus is. The second thing is to study the life of Jesus
and other people in the Bible to see how they made decisions, what
their priorities were and how they spent their time. The third things
we do is reflect, meditate and pray. This third step helps us understand
how we can take what we learn from the life of Jesus and apply it
to our own lives.
We think we learn best in a community of families, so we are informal
and flexible. We understand that kids make noise and we are good
with that. We know teens want to be rowdy, so we plan time for fun
and games before our meetings. We try to have coffee at every meeting,
if we can find someone who will remember to bring it. Most of all,
we want to be comfortable as we learn, and we want others to be
comfortable as well. We enjoy being together, and hope we can make
some new friends in the process. |

Meetings usually last between 50 minutes and an hour. For now, we are
meeting in the Henniker Community Center, top floor. Dan Whitney
is serving as the leader of our group. He and his family have lived
in Henniker for going on eight years now. If you have questions about
the group or the meetings, please contact him at dandewhit1@comcast.net.
We hope you will stop in and visit some time!

Dan and Nancy Whitney moved to Henniker in the summer of 2002.
Dan works as the Executive Director of Windsor Hills Camp and Retreat
Center (Windsor, NH) and Nancy is a school teacher in a local elementary
school.
Since college graduation, they have served churches in Michigan,
Virginia, New York and Rhode Island. Most of that time has been
spent heavily invested in ministry to children and teens.
Dan is a musician who enjoys artistic expression, reading, fishing
and fantasy football. Nancy, also very musical, loves children’s
literature and the Boston Red Sox. Together, with their family,
they think that Henniker is the friendliest town in which they have
ever lived.
Dan and Nancy hope that CCF can be a place where people find friendship
and meaning, along with companions on the journey.
“We want to honor God, live well, raise our children well,
make a positive difference in our town, and be good citizens of
the world.”
