The people of Community Christian Fellowship (CCF) want to make
a difference in the world. We think the best way to do that is by
following the model of the life of Jesus. “Being like Jesus”
is the goal behind everything we do as a community.
To arrive at that goal, we do three things when we get together
on Sunday nights. First, we sing songs that focus our attention
on who Jesus is. The second thing is to study the life of Jesus
and other people in the Bible to see how they made decisions, what
their priorities were and how they spent their time. The third thing
we do is reflect, meditate and pray. This third step helps us understand
how we can take what we learn from the life of Jesus and apply it
to our own lives.
We think we learn best in a community of families, so we are informal
and flexible. We understand that kids make noise and we are good
with that. We know teens want to be rowdy, so we plan time for fun
and games before our meetings. We try to have coffee at every meeting,
if we can find someone who will remember to bring it. Most of all,
we want to be comfortable as we learn, and we want others to be
comfortable as well. We enjoy being together, and hope we can make
some new friends in the process. |

Meetings usually last about an hour, once we get started. For now, we are
meeting in the Henniker Community Center, top floor. Until we have a new pastor, visiting ministers lead our teaching and discussion time.
We hope you will stop in and visit some time!

Community Christian Fellowship was started in 2007 by Dan &
Nancy Whitney. They moved to Henniker in 2002 to serve as
Executive Directors of Windsor Hills Camp and Retreat Center in
Windsor, NH. They had previously served churches in Michigan,
Virginia, New York and Rhode Island. With their family, they felt
that Henniker was the friendliest town in which they had ever
lived. Many in Henniker have been blessed by their ministry in the
town, especially our children and teens.
In August 2011 the Whitneys moved to Connecticut, where Dan
has been called to pastor the Manchester Church of the
Nazarene. We at CCF want to carry on the work they started,
grateful for the strong foundation they built. Their hope for CCF
was that it would be a place where people find friendship and
meaning, along with companions on the journey. They said, “we
want to honor God, live well, raise our children well, make a
positive difference in our town, and be good citizens of the
world.” We continue in that same hope and desire.
